Statement on Supreme Court Nominee

Supreme Court

RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association serves the millions of Americans who are trying to build families, have babies, and resolve their infertility. Questions have been raised about the beliefs of Amy Coney Barrett, the nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court, as they relate to in vitro fertilization, or IVF — a medical treatment that has led to the births of more than 1,000,000 loved and wanted children in this country. RESOLVE urges the Senate Judiciary Committee to question Ms. Barrett on her beliefs about embryo personhood and IVF. RESOLVE staunchly opposes personhood because it would, by its very logic, restrict IVF and other medical treatments that enable people to build families.
